Paul is Course Director of BDes Hons Interaction Design. With three decades of graphic design experience, Paul’s professional activities continually inform teaching practices and course content.
This ensures students are kept abreast of the latest technologies and are taught best practices for research, concept development and realisation.
Paul’s research interests lie in the digital/analogue interface of interaction design. He is currently working with a set of simple algorithms in the creation of a series of complex, printed generative outputs.
Kyle is a Lecturer of Interaction Design and is based at the Belfast School of Art at Ulster University Belfast.
Kyle received a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Multimedia Design, a Master of Arts in Multidisciplinary Design and a PhD in Computer Science all from Ulster University. In 2015 Kyle joined Ulster as a Lecturer in Interaction Design.
Kyle has research interests which range from Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, User Interface Design, User Experience Research, Usability Engineering, Social Media and Digital Health which is the application of digital technology in healthcare. He has published in these areas with papers spanning usability, Interface design and measuring user experience.
Kyle has been involved on research projects funded by InvestNI, InterTrade Ireland and the EU.
Daniel Philpott has been lecturing at Ulster University since 2015 and has been a member of staff since 2018. He has a First Class Honours degree in Design for Visual Communication and is currently working on his PhD.
He specialises in branding and typography and is an Assessor for the International Society of Typographic Designers. He has extensive experience in the commercial application of branding and design, having worked for some of the leading design companies in Belfast and for clients further afield.
Through his own consultancy he has created brands and websites for customers in the private, public and voluntary sectors.
